1. There are people who are developing tattoos that change color depending on your physiological state — so could help detect medical issues before they happen.

2. Tacos are good for breakfast, lunch and dinner — even all on the same day!

3. USAA had their first venture pitch competition and there were some great companies there pitching — including Pefin- the world’s first AI financial advisor, as well as Basket the App that helps you save money on your groceries! Kudos to USAA for a great event!

4. The City of Birmingham, England is the second fastest growing city in Europe (behind Berlin). It is becoming a tech hub!

5. There is a group called Plus Pool that is developing a public pool that will be in the Hudson River in New York City — the walls of the pool are a filtration system that makes it clean to swim in. I can’t wait for that!

6. SXSW Is awesome with so much going on, but I like Austin as a city better when there aren’t thousands of visitors- and I bet most locals would agree!

7. SXSW attracts a lot of people from all over the world- and all of those that we spoke with at the Pefin booth in the Interactive Innovation Forum shared very similar stories of frustrations in dealing with their personal finances. The need for affordable fiduciary advice is universal.

8. Staying at an Airbnb in Round Rock is a good way to make SXSW both more affordable and also less frenetic. Very much recommended!

9. A company called Read to Me has created a bedside lamp that projects pictures on your child’s wall when books are read — or when a story is being invented on the fly! The lamp interprets the words in the story, creating a riveting visual experience.

10. The People’s Choice Award went to Pefin! Competing against 65 amazing other companies — both innovative startups, as well as giants such as Google, Microsoft, Lego and Levi’s- Pefin won!!! As our way of saying “Thank You for the Love!!” we are giving away 6-months of Pefin COMPLETELY FREE, for a limited time. We look forward to sharing the gift of financial freedom with you, so get started today!!
